There is a in-depht article about the legal aspects of egg donation and fertility in Canada at “FreshFreeRange”. The laws seem to be very unclear, basically saying that assisting in fertility (either as a surrogate or egg donor) is an altruistic act, but if you get anything in return for doing it, you will be fined $250,000 and have the prospect of spending five years in jail.
