Who is listed
We combine public lists to find every organization involved in egg donation: FDA tissue-establishment registrations for oocytes, CDC fertility clinic reports, state tissue-bank licences (New York, Maryland), laboratory accreditation lists, the NPI registry, professional directories and donor recruitment advertising. Duplicates are merged by name, address, phone and website. Organizations cannot pay to be added, removed or ranked.
How facts are collected
We read each organization's own website (respecting robots.txt, never collecting donor profiles) and extract a fixed set of facts: fees, donor compensation, guarantees, donor insurance, screening and donor-pool policies. Every fact keeps the exact sentence it came from, the page and the date we checked it. A second automated check confirms that the sentence supports the fact.
Prices are published here only when verified. Yes/no policies that could not be verified are labelled “unverified”. “Not stated” means we did not find the information on the organization's website, not that the service is unavailable. In a hand-checked sample of 50 organizations, automatically accepted facts were correct 98.9% of the time.
Regulatory and outcome data
FDA registration comes from the FDA Human Cell and Tissue Establishment Registration database (establishments registered for oocytes). Success rates are the CDC's National ART Surveillance System clinic data for 2020–2022 (the most recent published): live births per embryo transfer for patients using donor eggs or embryos, all diagnoses. When a clinic reported fewer than 20 transfers the CDC publishes a fraction, and counts of 1–4 are suppressed; we show those as published. 310 clinics have donor-egg rates.
Transparency Score
The Transparency Score (0–100) measures only what an agency or egg bank publishes on its own website, not how good it is. Only verified prices count.
- Publishes its fee to intended parents (agency fee, or frozen-egg lot price for egg banks): 25 points
- Publishes first-time donor compensation: 25 points
- Publishes repeat-donor compensation: 10 points
- States whether donors get complication insurance: 10 points
- Describes donor psychological screening: 10 points
- Describes a refund, guarantee or rematch policy: 10 points
- Describes known-donor or open-ID options: 10 points
